About the Author
Sally J. Smith was a professional watercolor artist and children's book illustrator for more than 20 years before turning her talents to environmental sculptures. Great pictures and perfect size for the fridge!
I love this calendar. I had the 2016 calendar last year, and when I saw that there was a new calendar for 2017 I snagged it up right away. The fairy houses are amazing, the photography is great, and the calendar has a lot of information, such as holidays, phases of the moon, and when dayight saving time begins and ends. The paper is thick and sturdy. The surface is shiny, so it is difficult to write on it with anything other than a ballpoint pen. Personally, I prefer the look and durability of the shiny surface so this isn't a problem for me, but if you want to be able to pencil things in, you may want to use sticky notes instead of writing directly on the calendar.
The paper is very nice - heavy weight and shiny. The photos are cute and the compositions are done well. The small size is just right for hanging on a magnet on the side of my filing cabinet adjacent to my desk. Easy to get to and enjoyable to look at. Makes me smile!
Sally J. Smith is very talented with creating these enchanting fairy homes that make you want to live in them. We really have boring square houses!!!
I get this calendar every year. The designs are whimsical, fun and clever. You want to live in these little creations. I find these Fairy Houses to be colorful, magical and inspiring.
Beautiful! I was amazed to realize these are actual "houses" that she constructs and places in their little habitats for the pictures.
