I have the Kindle Version. Content is good. Kindle version does not show page numbers or what shows the tunes are from in their table of contents. I have an iPad 12.5" Pro, and I expand each page most of the time. Its very small on a iPad Air, or any 9.5 inch iPad. On my computer I view and use Grab to select a page to print if I need to, RARE. Kindle does not have a print function. A positive about the Kindle is I have two iPads that I sue for me and a bassist. Both iPads are on my Apple ID, so I have downloaded the book to my three iPads and my Desk Top iMac. The bassist and I will use each iPad to access the same tunes from the book. PS I also know a Classical pianist who uses the iPad Pro in recitals and she turned me on to the https://www.amazon.com/PageFlip-Firefly-Bluetooth-Turner-Pedal/dp/B00ILVHBKC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1485467216&sr=8-1&keywords=page+turner+pedal The only issue I have with expanding the pages in the Kindle version is when its a two page selection on has to hit the X in the top right had corner to slide to the next page. Not sure how it works with the Kindle book when a page is enlarged. With regular .pdf files I do not have to expand the pages.

I love this book. It is a treasure trove of great songs. I was unfamiliar with this repertoire when I bought the book, and it has been a wonderful resource for discovering and performing great music. I perform 40 or 50 songs from this book in nursing homes and at parties where there are show tune lovers, and people love it! The vocal ranges used in the book are great for singalongs. All of the songs are laid out on one page or less, so there are no page turns! Perfect. This is a great gigging book. The only drawback is also its greatest strength - this book is very thick. It needs a strong music stand like a Manhasset. For gigs, I've photocopied the charts of the songs I know and put them in a binder so they will be manageable. Also, you will need to treat the book gently. If you throw it around, the plastic comb could come loose. It could be a good idea to take the book apart and separate it into two or more binders. One other thing to know - the charts don't always include the lyrics to all the verses, and they often don't include introductions that set up the main tune in the Broadway shows. You can always find the lyrics online if you need them, but the missing intros could be problematic if you really need them.

This review is for the Kindle:The book is great and the contents are top notch.Unfortunately, it is near useless on a Kindle. Too small to squeeze all the info in and still see it clearly. :(

In the most important ways, this is the book I've been waiting for. It has so many great songs, from so many shows. I'm discovering songs that I never knew! The print is clear, I like the presentation of information about each show, and I like the fact that there are different tables of contents organized by song, by show, and by composer. As a "theme-based" piano teacher, this year's theme is Broadway musicals, so each of my 15 students is learning the music from a different show. The presentation is simple enough for my less experienced students to play just the melody line and I can accompany easily from the chart. My more advanced students are learning to put together their own arrangements, a terrific theory project. On the down side, the book is so big that it's a little unwieldy. Perhaps it could be put into two volumes; I might even pay a little more just for that. Also, the print is a little small, but some of us have ways of dealing with that. And, it does not have West Side Story, The Wizard of Oz, or The Wiz, which I don't understand. As a performing musician, this book is giving me access to some wonderful music, since the charts are so clear. I haven't found any particular disagreement with the chord choices yet; I can reharmonize them if they seem wrong or too simple.

This is a good buy for a pro pianist like me who might get requests for tunes I've never heard of from shows I've never seen. It has three indexes: by tune, by show, and by composers and lyricists. One of the best things in the book is an alphabetical show-by-show synopsis, containing information about each show's history, its major personnel, and its plot. However -- and it's a BIG however; in fact, several howevers: an awful lot of the songs are second-rate and I can't imagine getting requests for them, or even wanting to play them myself. The book proclaims its inclusion of "great songs" from several more recent shows such as "Rent"; gimme a break -- these songs are barely listenable, much less "great."Throughout the book, many of the chord changes are incorrect (this is a musician's constant complaint about ALL fake books). Most of the songs do not include the verse (and for Rodgers & Hart, Gershwin, and Kern these are often essential parts of the song). And there are inexplicable omissions. For example: (1) Some of the included shows are lacking some of their best songs: "The Nervous Set" omits "Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most," "Finian's Rainbow" omits "Necessity." "The Merry Widow" omits "The Merry Widow Waltz." "Mack and Mabel" omits "I Promise You a Happy Ending." (2) Some excellent shows are missing altogether. No "L'il Abner." No Cy Coleman's "I Love My Wife." And Leonard Bernstein is represented only by two songs from "Wonderful Town"; no "Candide," no "On the Town," no "West Side Story."And of course there are many songs I already own in other collections, although the book is useful as a one-stop source for all of these, and there are about fifty to a hundred decent to superb songs that I own nowhere else. There is ample representation of Rodgers & Hart, Rodgers & Hammerstein, Kern, Gershwin, Porter, Frank Loesser, Jerry Herman, Harold Arlen, Lerner & Loewe, Andrew Lloyd Webber, et al.In the end, despite its flaws, to me the book was well worth the price.
